Damocles

Based on the Mammoth strider, the engineers at Hartford developed the Damocles for the CNCS and is beginning to enter early production. Operated by a pilot and system operator/gunner in a tandem configuration, the Damocles drops the two battle arms in favor of a single massive torse mounting a large KLG-675 artillery gun. Replacing the auxiliary engine found in the Mammoth, an internal twenty round magazine supplies ammunition for four barrages of five shells. Defensive armaments in the form of two Sargon Optics laser turrets and two underslung machineguns defend the strider from enemy counter-battery fire, aircraft and infantry.[1]

Usage

The Damocles is underwing limited field testing with several variants of the model seeing service with NorGuard artillery units for evaluation. While some versions (such as command units equipped with satellite uplinks) have seen promise, all models have experienced some kind of flaw requiring assistance from Hartmore engineers to keep them functioning.[2]
