Fastener

Fastener is the name given to any material or object(s) that hold(s) a given structure together. Early examples offasteners include knotted ropes, wood nails and tree resin. As the level of technology rose, fasteners kept pace:metal nails, screws, glues, etc. 62nd-century engineering makes use of these and several others.
